It’s widely known that chocolate is extremely toxic for cats and dogs. Luckily there’s carob, a sweet fruit that’s been used as a chocolate substitute for decades. Compared to cocoa, carob contains twice the amount of calcium and is fat-free. Carob is known to treat diarrhea in dogs and cats and is known to improve digestion and lower cholesterol. Cover and refrigerate the carob bars for up to two weeks.
